Saturday, October 25, 2009 we went to Tunnel Hill State Park to ride our bikes from Vienna to Tunnel Hill. This portion of the trail is 18.6 miles round trip ride and has a 2% grade uphill going north. We rode to Tunnel Hill, had lunch, and returned. On the return trip, we started taking pictures. Unfortuneately, we lost about 5 pictures with Logan dropped the camera and the batteries fell out. So, we lost the pictures we had taken around the tunnel itself. Oh well, something for us to do when we go back. Here are some of the pictures that we took while on our bikes.
This is some of the color at the Breeden Trussel.
Logan at the Breeden Trussel. Amy's picture did not come out well.
This is a picture looking down at a stream at the trussel near the reservoir.
Another view of the reservoir.
When the dam was installed, they actually rerouted the channel of the Little Cache River. The dam is to the right.
Amy thought it was funny that Logan became a "rock climer" to get the last few pictures so, she took picture of him.
When Logan climbed up on the rock, he saw something just below him. It was this US Geological Survey Marker. We plan to do a bit a research on this. But, the stamp says it was in installed in 1964.
As we went down the trail just past the dam, there was a place were there was some small rapids. It made a lovely noise.
