About Us

Amy and Logan Blewett were married on May 16, 1998 after meeting at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. They moved to Paducah, Kentucky where Logan was working at the time.

Now, Amy teaches violin, piano, viola, and cello out of our home. Amy is a member of Reidland United Methodist where both of us are the Handbell Directors. Amy is also the volunteer Curator of the Paducah Railroad Museum.

Logan currently works as a school bus driver for McCracken County Schools. He continues to work as an Interpreter for the Deaf during church activities and as a volunteer. He is a member of Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He teaches the Adult Sunday School class and fills the pulpit occasionally as a Lay Pastor. He recently received his Certificate in Pastoral Studies from the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. He serves as the Presbytery Elder Commissioner. Logan accompanies Amy's students and tunes pianos. He is also involved in the community as a ham radio operator and as the Museum Director of the Paducah Railroad Museum. Additionally, he is President of the Paducah Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.

We also volunteer at the Museum of the American Quilters' Society once a month, as well as the Paducah Railroad Museum.

We enjoy bike riding, swimming, taking walks together, and camping.

Logan has had a busy weekend....Saturday after making the last post here, he started to have an upset stomach. Nothing big, he though. By supper time, his stomach was really talking. By 8 p.m. he was sick. He could not get comfortable when he tried to go to bed. So, he had Amy take him to the ER (9:45 p.m.). Completed registration around 10:30. Had nursing care, blood drawn around 11:30, and x-ray completed around 1 a.m. A CAT scan was ordered which as a 2 hour prep time, so, Amy went home to get some sleep. The CAT scan was administered around 3:50 a.m. Sunday. By, 5:30 they told Logan his appendix was swollen and needed to be removed. He was admitted into the hospital by 6:30. He met his surgeon around 1:30 and surgery started around 2 p.m. Surgery lasted about 40 minutes and he was in recovery around 1.5 hours and returned to his room. Amy then returned to the hospital and stayed until after Logan finished his (liquid) supper.) He stayed overnight. Amy returned to the hospital from 9-12 noon. Logan received his discharge papers around 2 but, opted to stay until he had an opportunity to talk with the surgeon. Amy returned around 3:30 and waited with Logan to talk with the surgeon. He showed up around 6:30 or 7. Then we waited for a nurse to escort Logan out the the car. This took a bit more time since they have a change of shift at 7. We then went to CVS for Logan's pain medicine (Oxycontin) and then home by 8:30 Monday evening.

Today, Logan has been working on his bus route paper work since he can not drive and school starts on Thursday. He has been trying to keep active to workout the soreness in his left side. (The surgery was done laparoscopicly so the incision is on the left side even though the the appendix on the right!)

Hopefully things will work out and he can return to work asap. The surgeon told him that he suspects his gall bladder to have problems as well by the symptoms he was having, but since the gall bladder looked ok he did not remove it, and he did not want to cross contaminate the infection that was present in the appendix into the gall bladder. He will have Logan's gall bladder tested when Logan returns for his follow up in a week or so. There may be another surgery in the future for Logan. We just have to wait and see.
