This past Friday, Amy's students had their semi-annual recital at Logan's church. There was a great turn out, around 65 in attendance. Several church members came by for a birthday party that was being held in another part of the church and were caught off guard by how many cars where parked around the block. Performers were 4 years old to a senior in high school. All went very smoothly.
Logan accompanied most of the students again, but had to do it while injured. He was assigned a newer bus (10 years newer). His driver window stuck when he tried to open it at a railroad crossing as required by law. The window did eventually open, only after mashing the side of his left thumb between the handle of the front window and the frame of the rear window. This caused a blood blister to come up and pop in addition to bruising his thumb. He had to play the piano with a band-aid on his thumb which would catch on the keys.
This past week's project for Logan, in addition to preparing for the recital, was gathering some information for his maternal grandmother regarding a donation she had made to the cemetery where his uncle is buried. Her CPA would not take the donation as a deduction. After making several calls he did find out that the donation should have been deductible, but also found out that the cemetery association's EIN number had gone dormant. Because of this, he had some trouble confirming the association's detectability status. Fortunately, the association was able to get a new EIN and all is well on this front.
Logan is now thankful that tax season is now over. After spending Spring Break (April 6-10) working on taxes, then working on his grandmother's issue, and preparing for the recital he is rather worn out. His next project is to gather information regarding his state's interpreter for the Deaf license renewal.
