This past weekend, we went to Evansville, IN for a violin workshop at the University of Evansville. Amy had two students that attended this year. We drove up on Friday and had supper with our friend, Mary Jane. Logan went to observe other students and take notes for her.
Saturday afternoon, we were joined by Amy's college roommate and her family from Indianapolis for supper.
We returned to the hotel for one more night. We attended church on Sunday at the church where we were married, Eastminster Presbyterian. We got to visit a bit with some old friends before we left which was great. After church we returned to the hotel to change clothes.
We then left for Target. Logan's sister, Liz, had given us a gift card a couple years ago and we were able to get some new bed linen, a light for our tent, and a faucet water filter. Three things on our wish list!
After shopping we went to lunch at Culver's. Oddly enough, we met another friend from Eastminster. We then went to the Evansville Transportation Museum and the Art and Science meseum.
After this bit of fun, we went over to the Victory Theatre to watch another of Amy's students compete in a dance competion. Come to find out we knew several of the dancers from Amy's church.
So, after a full weekend like this, we are a bit tired, but not worse for the wear. Hopefully, we can get some more sleep this evening to catch up. Logan was just notified that he should be "off the hook" as far as preaching for the next few weeks since the lay pastor he was filling in for is doing so well with her physical therapy. So, that should free up some time.
About Us
Amy and Logan Blewett were married on May 16, 1998 after meeting at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. They moved to Paducah, Kentucky where Logan was working at the time.
Now, Amy teaches violin, piano, viola, and cello out of our home. Amy is a member of Reidland United Methodist where both of us are the Handbell Directors. Amy is also the volunteer Curator of the Paducah Railroad Museum.
Logan currently works as a school bus driver for McCracken County Schools. He continues to work as an Interpreter for the Deaf during church activities and as a volunteer. He is a member of Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He teaches the Adult Sunday School class and fills the pulpit occasionally as a Lay Pastor. He recently received his Certificate in Pastoral Studies from the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. He serves as the Presbytery Elder Commissioner. Logan accompanies Amy's students and tunes pianos. He is also involved in the community as a ham radio operator and as the Museum Director of the Paducah Railroad Museum. Additionally, he is President of the Paducah Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.
We also volunteer at the Museum of the American Quilters' Society once a month, as well as the Paducah Railroad Museum.
We enjoy bike riding, swimming, taking walks together, and camping.
